Welcome to Fortis Disability

Welcome to Fortis. Here's a quick tour of your portal: passwordless sign-in, messages from your team, tasks with clear due dates, document uploads, and Fiona, your AI case assistant.

Welcome to Fortis Disability. From here on, you're not navigating this process alone - you have a case team, and you have a place where everything about your case lives in one spot: the Fortis Portal.

Most people start out with the same question: what's actually happening with my claim right now? Historically, answering that meant waiting for a call back. That's exactly why we built the portal - so you can see your case, hear from your team, and act on what's needed without ever having to wonder.

This article walks you through what to expect, step by step.

Your Portal Link Arrives by Email

Shortly after you get started, you'll receive an email from us with two things: your portal link and a direct way to reach your Fortis team. That email is your front door, so it's worth taking one small step right away: bookmark the portal link in your browser.

You'll be coming back to it often - checking messages, completing tasks, sending documents - and having it one click away makes every one of those visits easier.

Logging In: No Password to Remember

There's no password to create, forget, or reset. Logging in is simple:

  • Enter your email address or phone number.
  • A one-time code gets sent straight to you.
  • Enter the code, and you're in.

That's the whole process. Because the code is fresh each time, nobody needs your password but you - there isn't one. And since the code goes to the email or phone number you gave us, your account stays yours.

Check Messages First

Once you're in, the first place to look is Messages. This is where your Fortis team actually talks to you - updates on your case, answers to your questions, and anything worth flagging along the way.

When you log in for the first time, you'll already see a welcome note from us waiting there. And Messages isn't one-directional: you can reply anytime you have a question. No waiting for the next scheduled call, no wondering whether your question was too small to ask. If it's on your mind, send it.

Tasks: Exactly What We Need, Exactly When

Next, check Tasks. If we ever need something specific from you, it shows up here - with a due date, so you always know exactly when it's needed.

A common example is the work history form, which Social Security relies on heavily when it evaluates a claim. When a task like that appears, just tap into it. You can fill it out and submit it right from your phone or your computer - whatever's easiest at that moment.

Because each task shows its due date, you never have to guess what's urgent and what can wait. And your team can see the moment something is complete, so nothing sits in limbo.

Documents: Sending Us a Record Yourself

Tasks cover the things we've asked you for. Documents covers the other direction - when you have something to send us.

New medical records, a letter you received, test results, anything relevant to your case: open Documents in the portal, attach it, and hit send. It goes straight to your team, gets added to your file, and you don't have to mail anything, fax anything, or hold onto a paper copy hoping it reaches the right person.

Meet Fiona, Your AI Case Assistant

One more part of the portal worth knowing by name: Fiona, your AI case assistant here at Fortis.

Fiona is built into the portal experience - she helps you find what you're looking for, walks you through features, and keeps the day-to-day running smoothly so your human team can focus on the substance of your case. Think of her as the front desk of your portal: always there, always pointing you in the right direction.

If You Ever Have Trouble Getting In

Getting locked out should never be the thing that slows your case down. If you ever have trouble signing in, there's a support page linked right on the login screen - it walks you through the most common fixes, like requesting a new one-time code or confirming which email or phone number is on your account.

And if that doesn't sort it out, your team is reachable - message us through the portal once you're back in, or reach out the way you normally would. Getting you back into your account is a quick fix, and we'd rather handle it the moment it happens.

The Habit That Helps Most

If there's one takeaway from this tour, it's this: bookmark the portal and log in anytime. You don't need a reason or an appointment. Check Messages when you want to know what's new. Check Tasks when you want to know what's next. Send Documents whenever something comes up.

The portal exists so that staying informed takes minutes, not phone tag. And as your case moves forward - through the DDS review and beyond - that habit is what keeps your team and your file moving at the same pace.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get access to the Fortis Portal?

Your case manager sets up your account when you get started, and the portal link arrives by email from Fortis along with a direct way to reach your team. Bookmark that link - it's your way in from then on.

Do I need a password to log in?

No. Enter your email or phone number, receive a one-time code, and enter it. There's no password to remember or reset.

What if I don't receive the one-time code?

First check your spam or junk folder if you asked for the code by email, and give it a minute if you chose text. Still nothing? Use the support page linked right on the login screen - it covers the most common fixes.

Can I submit documents from my phone?

Yes. Tasks and document uploads both work from your phone or your computer, so you can complete whatever's needed from wherever you are.

How often should I check the portal?

Whenever it suits you. A good rhythm is checking Messages and Tasks a couple of times a week, but there's no schedule to keep - log in anytime you have a question or something to send.

Who do I ask if something in the portal isn't clear?

Reply in Messages. Your Fortis team sees every reply and can walk you through it, and Fiona is there in the portal to point you to the right place in the meantime.

The Fortis Portal is for Fortis clients and supplements your case team - it never replaces them. If anything about your case is ever unclear, message your team directly from inside the portal.
